Chicago is home to some truly phenomenal magic shows. In fact, the Windy City has a long history of delivering dynamite magical entertainment to grown up audiences. While the heyday of Chicago magic bars has passed, there is a current renaissance of magic in Chicago and the Chicago Magic Company is thrilled to recommend a few of its favorites.
The Magic Parlour starring Dennis Watkins
The Chicago Magic Company is the proud producer of Chicago’s longest-running close-up magic show, The Magic Parlour starring Dennis Watkins.
3rd Generation Magician and Mind Reader Dennis Watkins performs six shows a week in the show’s own speakeasy theater at 50 West Randolph in the heart of the Loop, presented with Goodman Theatre and Petterino’s.
Engineered for a grown-up audience, The Magic Parlour is a sophisticated night out in an upscale setting.
Tickets start at $96. Every ticket includes a complimentary drink from the bar, and VIP adds a seat in The Encore Room for another half hour of close-up magic with Dennis after the show.
Guest artists at The Magic Parlour
Several times a year, Dennis hands the stage to a magician he admires for a limited run. Recent guest artists include Steve Valentine (September 2026), Eric Jones (July 2026), Derek Hughes (February–March 2026) and Siegfried Tieber (2024 and 2026). The Chicago Magic Lounge
The Chicago Magic Lounge is an artful venue on the city’s north side. The Chicago Magic lounge features several performers on any given night. Magicians bring magic to your table, perform on stage in the Blackstone Cabaret Theatre, and provide formal close-up entertainment in the 654 Club.

The Hand & The Eye
The world's largest magic venue opened in April 2026 inside the historic McCormick Mansion at 100 East Ontario, just off the Magnificent Mile. Designed by David Rockwell, the five-story mansion pairs an evening of magic with dinner across dozens of intimate rooms. Guests must be 21 or older, and formal attire is required. Trickery
Owner and illusionist Aaron Rabkin performs intimate, interactive shows Thursday through Sunday at his storefront theater at 3453 North Halsted in Lakeview, often with help from Hoppy the Psychic Wonder Bunny. It's an hour of close-up magic and comedy that works for date nights and families alike. Visit Trickery.
Cosmic Underground Theater
In a 40-seat theater at 3433 West Fullerton in Logan Square, sleight-of-hand artist Harrison Lampert and mind reader Kayla Drescher present a retro-futuristic blend of comedy, mind reading and impossible magic. Shows run Thursday through Saturday, for ages 13 and up. Visit Cosmic Underground.
Rhapsody Theater
This restored 1912 jewel box at 1328 West Morse in Rogers Park sits steps from the Morse Red Line stop. Owner Ricardo Rosenkranz, a pediatrician who performs as the “Physician Magician,” presents a rotating season of magic alongside music and variety shows. Visit Rhapsody Theater.
Swift & Sons
